Each of our hospitals has earned The Gold Seal of Approval.
Exempla Healthcare has also been selected as a top quintile performer by Thomson Reuters by the research firm that annually names the Top 100 Hospitals in America for clinical quality and efficiency. Thomson Reuters called the study an attempt "to measure health systems as entities unto themselves and what they stand for in terms of the quality of care that they are providing to their various communities."
The 285 hospital sytem study showed a wide difference in quality between hospital systems in the top fifth and those in the bottom fifth. For example, the mortality index for the top 50 is 25.4% lower than for the bottom 50 hospitals; the complications index for the top fifth is 19% lower than the bottom 50 hospitals; and the patient - safety index is 12.7% lower than the bottom 50 hospitals.
Thompson Reuters estimates that if all Medicare inpatients received the same level of care as the Top 100 Health Systems more than 47,000 additional patients would survive each year, nearly 92,000 patient complications would be avoided annually and the average patient stay would decreased by more than half a day.
