The following Prenatal education programs offered at The Women's Pavilion are developed to help you and your family prepare for the birth of your new baby.
Nurture yourself and your growing baby through gentle hatha yoga. Learn basic breathing techniques and yoga poses that are especially beneficial during pregnancy. Guided relaxation and visualization exercises encourage an open minded, positive approach to pregnancy and birth. The instructor is certified in prenatal yoga. Please bring a mat, pillow and blanket to class. Offered evenings, 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
Cost: $60 for 6-week session, or $12 per class for individual classes
Designed for families planning to breastfeed, the class includes how breast milk is produced; benefits, myths, techniques of feeding and feeding cues; role of partners; and pumping. Information about pumps, bras and other products is included. Prenatal education about breastfeeding is the best way to get off to a successful start. Partners are encouraged to attend. Offered evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturdays/Sundays, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Just found out you're going to have twins, triplets or more? Get prepared for the uniqueness of pregnancy, birth and life ahead. Meet other families who are also experiencing the joys and challenges of expecting multiples. Practice healthy pregnancy choices through sound nutrition, rest and stress management techniques.
Learn about the physical and emotional challenges of a multiples pregnancy. Get prepared for the many variations in birth through your knowledge and confidence in the multiple-birth process. Gain practical skills and problem solving information about life at home with newborn multiples. It is best to take this class by 20 weeks' gestation, although you are welcome at any time during your pregnancy. Offered Saturdays/Sundays, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Breastfeeding Multiples Successfully
Breastfeeding multiples is unique. This class is designed to teach you the special strategies that will make breastfeeding your twins or triplets successful. Information covered includes how breast milk is produced; benefits, myths, techniques of feeding; feeding cues; positioning; and pumping. Breast pumps, bras and other product information will be reviewed, as well as strategies for those first weeks at home. Offered evenings, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
Cost: $35 per couple
Baby Business and/or Maternity Tour
At this session, you will prepare pre-admission forms, birth certificate forms and more. We will discuss billing procedures, security policies and other hospital routines.
Unless you have taken a tour as a part of a Prepared Childbirth series of classes, you will also want to register for a Maternity Tour. You should take this class in the eighth month of your pregnancy; however, call early to pre-register as these classes fill up quickly.
