Louise Mercer
Director of Residency Clinic Operations

Louise joined the Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital Graduate Medical Education program in July 2007 as the Director of Residency Clinic Operations. Before accepting her current position, she worked for Exempla for five years as the Administrator of the Residency Business Office.  She enjoys working at Saint Joseph Hospital because of its Catholic heritage and because of the long-time association between her family and the hospital.  She states, "It is a privilege to work with the brightest of the bright (residents) and to take care of people (patients) who need us.  I also like the current generation of Sisters; not as scary as they were to a third-grader."

Laurel Allen
GME Manager

Laurel joined the Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital Graduate Medical Education program in January, 2008 as the Manager of GME Programs. She has worked for Exempla for the past 18 years most recently as the Program Coordinator in Family Medicine since 1996. Her extensive experience in human resources, scheduling and customer service ensures that the residency programs function smoothly on a day to day basis. When asked what Laurel thinks makes the Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital GME program so special, she responds, "I like being a part of something bigger than all of us. The Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth had a dream and I feel like I contribute to keeping it alive. There isn't a day that passes, during all this time that I am not proud to tell everyone where I work." Outside of the office Laurel enjoys camping, reading and most outdoor activities.
