Residency Application Information
All applications are accepted only through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) hosted by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC). ERAS may be accessed via the dean's office of your U.S. medical school. For international medical graduates (IMG's), you may access ERAS via the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) at http://www.ecfmg.org/.
FAQs regarding application requirements:
- We will have eight (8) PGY-1 openings for July 2010.
- The deadline for applications is the first Friday in January.
- All required exams must have a PASSING score but no minimum score is required for application.
- NRMP regulations do not permit pre-match.
- If you have postgraduate training, a letter of recommendation and/or evaluation from the program director is also required.
Further information for IMGs:
- We accept IMGs into our program and Exempla will sponsor a limited number of H-1 and J-1 visas.
- All fees related to the VIsa are the responsibility of the applicant (including the anti-fraud fee).
- At least one year of US clincal experience is required (observerships do not count).
- ECFMG certification is required before being accepted for an interview.
- USMLE Steps 1,2, and 3 (if applicable) results must be available by the last day of January.
- No more than three (3) years between medical school and application for residency.
- A Colorado Medical License is required by the 2nd year of residency.
Family Residency Program Interview Invitations
We will send invitations for interviews after receiving a completed Electronic Residency Application System application.
- Interviews are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Interviews are conducted from October 31 through January 18.
- Interviews are conducted on Thursdays and Fridays
- We schedule dinners onThursday evenings, which are a great time to meet the faculty, staff, and current residents in an informal setting. If your schedule permits, we hope that you will be able to join us for dinner during your interview visit.
- We understand that many applicants are traveling to Denver from great distances and are coordinating interviews with other programs in the area. We will do everything possible to accommodate your needs.
