Advanced Surgical Care

Dr Barry Platnick is Board Certified in General Surgery and Critical Care and has completed two fellowships in Trauma and in Critical Care Surgery. He is also the Medical Director of Trauma & Critical Care at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center in Lafayette. Dr Platnick developed the Trauma Program and played an integral part in getting the Trauma III designation at Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center. Dr Platnick's expertise spans a broad range of surgery including general, thoracic, vascular, thoracic, breast, cancer, laparoscopic, pediatric, gastrointestinal, trauma and critical care.
Dr. Kelly Knudson is Board Certified in General Surgery. She graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine where she was active in AOA, the medical honor society. She completed her five year surgical residency at the University of Colorado and joind BlueStone in 2008. Dr Knudson's philosophy of care focuses on the accessibility of the individualized care so that all of her patients understand every step of their health and healing journey, from diagnosis to recovery. She has a special interest in treating breast disease, bringing sensitivity and expertise to develop a plan that's right for her patients and their families. Dr Knudson enjoys outdoor photography, kayaking and spending time with her dogs in the park.

Dr. Mary Grace Heyrosa is a board certified general surgeon with fellowship training in colorectal surgery. She earned her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Heyrosa completed her internship at the Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown, PA and her general surgery residency at Exempla Saint Joseph’s Hospital. She returned to Lehigh Valley to pursue a fellowship in Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Heyrosa performs colonoscopies, as well as treatment of anorectal problems such as hemorrhoids, rectal prolapse and fecal incontinence. Her clinical interest include: colon cancer screening, prevention and treatment.
Tabatha Tomajko earned her physician assistant degree from Gannon University in Pennsylvania in 2005 and completed her one-year PA surgical residency program at Norwalk Hospital/Yale University in Connecticut. Tabatha is a surgical PA, serving 3 years as a staff surgical PA at Norwalk Hospital, specializing in general surgery, trauma and surgical critical care, as well as several other subspecialties of surgery. Tabatha enjoys her weekends either hiking, skiing or rock climbing in the Rocky Mountains with her husband.
