Tumor Board and Breast Conference are multidisciplinary forums used to discuss a patient's diagnosis and the most appropriate treatment options available. At these conferences, physicians and allied health professionals involved in the care of cancer patients present and discuss individual patient cases. Discussion involves the review of radiology, pathology, patient history and current methods of treatment. NCNN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) treatment guidelines, clinical trials, and case management are available for review and discussion. ELMC collaborates with another community hospital in order to provide Tumor Board on a weekly basis.
In 2007, 134 ELMC patients were presented and reviewed at these conferences.
