JoAnn Soker Chair
JoAnn Soker received her undergraduate degree from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio and then continued her education at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington D.C., where she earned her Juris Doctor degree.
Currently, Soker serves as the Executive Director of the Colorado Educational and Cultural Facilities Authority. Her previous positions include Executive Director of the Colorado Department of Personnel under Governor Romer, Executive Vice President for Administration of the Auraria Higher Education Center and Chief Operating Officer of Rocky Mountain Mutual Housing Association, as well as practicing law at the firm of Holme Roberts and Owen and the Colorado Attorney General's office.
Soker has served on numerous community boards including Denver Civic Ventures, Denver Center for the Performing Arts Foundation, Colorado Housing and Finance Authority, Colorado Student Obligation Bond Association and the Denver Housing Authority.
We welcome New Member: John P. (Jack) Box
John (Jack) Box is President and Chief Executive Officer of Frederick Ross Company and is considered one of the industry's most respected commercial real estate practitioners. He is recognized as a creative, highly professional manager and broker who has earned the respect of his peers not only in Colorado, but also across North America through Ross's affiliation with ONCOR International.
Box has been honored several times during the course of his career for his outstanding achievements. He was recognized as honorary dean for 2002 by the University of Denver Franklin L. Burns School of Real Estate and Construction Management.
Actively involved in the community, Box also currently serves as chairman on the board of trustees for Regis University, the board of directors of the National Crime Prevention Council, the board of directors for Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation, and is a member of the Denver Archdiocesan Finance Council.
Dennis Clifford, MD
Dr. Dennis Clifford graduated with an undergraduate degree in biology/chemistry and continued his education at the University of Minnesota Medical School where he received his medical degree.
After graduating medical school, Clifford completed his internship and residency at the University of Michigan Affiliated Hospitals in Ann Arbor, Michigan followed by a Pulmonary Fellow in Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Clifford has participated in Phase I, II, III and IV clinical research in the role as primary or sub investigator for the past 16 years. Therapeutic areas of study include asthma, EIA, emphysema, chronic bronchitis and gastroenterology.
Currently, Clifford continues his participation in clinical trials at Rocky Mountain Center for Clinical Research and spends the rest of his busy schedule at his private practice in pulmonary and critical care medicine.
We Welcome New Member: Felix W. Cook, Sr.
Felix W. Cook, Sr., received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Southern University, Baton Rouge, Lousianna. He graduated from the University of Denver with a MPA degree in Management. He completed graduate level courses in Power Systems Engineering at Colorado State University and the University of Colorado.
Cook served as Director of the Bureau of Reclamation Technical Service Center from 1992 - 1999, an 800-person organization comprised of professional scientists, research and engineering personnel. As a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Colorado, Cook was appointed by the Governor of Colorado to the Colorado State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Professional Land Surveyors. He was reappointed in 1988 and served as Chairman of the Registration Board from 1988 - 1990.
In October 2004, Cook was appointed a CASA volunteer. CASA volunteers are Court Appointed Special Advocates trained to work within the court and child welfare systems to advocate for the best interests of children who have been abused and/or neglected. He presently serves on the CASA Advisory Board.
Cook was appointed to the Community First Foundation board of directors in February 2005 and served as Chairperson of the Community Impact Development committee.
Patricia Fahy, MD
Dr. Patricia Fahy is a leadership consultant and executive coach. She is the executive director of the Permanente Federation Medicine and Management Program, a national Kaiser Permanente physician leadership training program. In addition to working with physician leadership teams she also provides executive coaching services through Resnik Partners in non-healthcare fields.
Fahy was with Kaiser Permanente in California and Colorado for twenty years prior to her current role. From July 1999 to November 2007 she was the Associate Medical Director of Human Resources for the Colorado Permanente Medical Group (CPMG), an 800-physician multi-specialty group in Colorado. She was responsible for physician selection and orientation, leadership training, performance management, credentialing, physician-labor liaison efforts, as well as the diversity and recognition programs.
Fahy practiced internal medicine at the Westminster Kaiser Permanente Clinic where she served as chief of internal medicine. Fahy also practiced with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group in San Diego, California from 1988 until 1990. She served on the Colorado Permanente Medical Group Board of Directors from 1996 to 1999.
Fahy received an undergraduate degree in Psychology and continued her education at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine where she received her medical degree. Fahy completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
Lillee Smith Gelinas, RN, MSN
Lillee Smith Gelinas earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Southern Louisiana and a Master of Science degree in Nursing, with honors, from the University of Pennsylvania, where Gelinas also studied at the Wharton School of Business.
Gelinas is currently the Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at VHA. She supports efforts aimed at system wide performance improvement to improve member's economic strength through better patient care, operations and supply chain management. Gelinas works with VHA's health care organizations and 18 local offices to "close the quality gap" through VHA's performance improvement agenda.
Prior to joining VHA, Gelinas was the Senior Nursing Administrator at the 402-bed Memorial Hospital of Burlington County, in Mount Holly, New Jersey. She also served in the U.S. Navy Nurse Corps for five years, reaching the rank of lieutenant.
Richard Hesky, MD
Dr. Richard Hesky received his medical degree from the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He completed his internship and residency at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and Affiliated Hospitals.
Hesky is a medical oncologist and hematologist and served as president of the medical staff at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital in 2004. Hesky also has a private practice in medical oncology and hematology.
Since 1981, Hesky has served in a variety of positions including an emergency room physician, medical director of two hospice facilities and chief of oncology at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, joining the staff in 1986.
Hesky currently serves as a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Saul Locker received his Bachelor of Science degree from Western Illinois University and his MBA from Colorado State University.
As the founder and President of Alexander Benefits Consulting, Locker has built long-term partnerships that are centered on managing and servicing his clients in order to maximize their level of customer satisfaction.
Prior to establishing Alexander Benefits Consulting in 1988, Locker managed the South Central Region of Aon Consulting (formerly known as Alexander & Alexander Benefits Services) for 13 years. During his tenure with Aon, he was responsible for creating and managing the National Specialty Healthcare Business. Additionally, Saul served as the Regional Benefits Manager for Liberty Mutual for seven years.
Locker served as President of the board of directors for the Rocky Mountain Region of the Alzheimer's Association, the Girl Scouts of America board and on the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation board of directors.
Cleyon Lee Mulder
Cleyon Lee Mulder received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Engineering at South Dakota State University. Mulder continued his education at the University of Denver, where he earned an MBA degree.
Mulder started and finished his career at the Ralston Purina Company and succeeded in the ranks of management.
He served as the Director and Chairman of the Board for the Colorado Safety Association and Colorado Hearing and Speech. Mulder also served as the Director and Regional Vice President of the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry and Co-Chairman of the Health Council for the Denver Chamber of Commerce. He served the community as a Director on the Board of the LMC Community Foundation, as well as the Chairman of Ralston Valley High School Accountability.

John McDermott received his Bachelor of Science degree from South Dakota State University, his Master of Science from the University of Michigan and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Michigan.
McDermott is a Shareholder in Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck's Litigation Group. Based in the firm's Denver office, McDermott has 25 years of experience handling all types of commercial litigation matters, including securities litigation.
Prior to joining the firm, McDermott was the chair of the litigation department of Holme Roberts & Owen LLP in Denver. In 2008 Chambers USA again selected McDermott as one of Colorado's top trial attorneys.
McDermott serves on the Saint Joseph Hospital Foundation board of directors, the Colorado Competitive Council board, the Denver Chamber Economic Development Corporation board and United Way, de Tocqueville Society.
We Welcome New Member: W. Gerald Rainer, MD, MS 
Dr. Gerald Rainer received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, Memphis, Tennessee.
He has been affiliated with Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital since 1960 where he practiced thoracic and cardiovascular surgery until his retirement. He is a past chair of the Institutional Review Board at Exempla Healthcare, as well as past director of Continuing Medical Education at Saint Joseph Hospital. He is currently Distinguished Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Among his many honors, Dr. Rainer was presented with the David Dugan Distinguished Service Award from the Western Thoracic Surgery Association in 2007. He currently serves on the boards of the Colorado Symphony Association, the Bioethics and Humanities Institute at the University of Denver Health Science Center and the Humanities Institute at the University of Denver.
Arnold F. Roane 
Arnold Roane is a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State University and a Master of Science in Management from MIT, Sloan School of Management.
Roane retired in 2000 from a 40 year professional career. He worked 20 years for General Electric in the Power Generation, Aerospace, and Computer businesses and worked in various functional areas including, engineering, manufacturing, marketing and, strategy development. Roane joined Martin Marietta Corp (now known as Lockheed Martin) in 1980 and continued in their employment until he retired in 2000.
Roane has been active on numerous boards and commissions including Paoli Memorial Hospital Board (Pennsylvania), YMCA of Waynesboro, Va.; Colorado Commission on Space, Science, and Industry; Rocky Mountain Junior Achievement; Colorado Episcopal Foundation; QuaLife Wellness Community; Kempe Children's Foundation; Girl's Incorporated; MIT Sloan Fellows Society, Board of Governors; Colorado University Strategy 2000 Team; MIT Visiting Committee on Sponsored Research; INROADS of Colorado; Denver Botanic Gardens; and the Colorado Episcopal Commission on Racial Harmony.

David Roll served as chief financial officer then personnel manager for Cummins Rocky Mountain, a corporation that designs, manufactures, distributes and services engines and related technologies, for thirty-eight years. He retired in 2001.
Roll's community interests lie in serving the financial needs of the nonprofit community. Roll served as a member of the finance committee of the Exempla Board, and has served on Community First Foundation's board of directors since 1998. From 1988 - 1998 he served as a board member of Lutheran Medical Center. Roll has also served as a board member for Colorado Lutheran Home, Eben Ezer Lutheran Care Center and Family Tree of Jefferson County.
Jeffrey D. Selberg
Jeff Selberg received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University and his Master of Science degree in Hospital Administration from Washington University.
Selberg's 25-year career in health care administration is highlighted by the development of successful strategic partnerships among medical groups, health plans and acute care hospitals. Selberg currently serves as Exempla's President and CEO and has helped integrate Exempla's facilities into a system that is working to continually meet the needs of patients, families, healthcare providers and the community.
Selberg is actively involved as a director on three health care association boards, as well as the Denver Chamber of Commerce and Colorado Forum.
David A. Westerlund
David Westerlund a native of Charleston, South Carolina received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville and then continued his education at University of South Carolina, Columbia, where he earned his Juris Doctor degree.
Currently, Westerlund is Executive Vice President of Administration and Corporate Secretary for Ball Corporation. He has been with the Ball Corporation since 1987 when he started as Vice President of Human Resources for Ball InCon Glass Packaging Corporation and from there continued in executive positions in human resources and administration.
Westerlund has been active in a number of organizations and boards including the South Carolina Bar, American Bar Association, Mile High United Way and Colorado PGA Foundation. He has also been past chair for the Westminster Legacy Foundation and Colorado Leadership Alliance and serves on the board of Xcel Energy.
We Welcome New Member: Gerald V. Zarlengo, MD, FACOG
Dr. Gerald Zarlengo received his Bachelor of Science degree from Colorado State University and his medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center before serving his residency at Saint Joseph Hospital.
He is currently the Medical Director for Women's and Children's Services at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital and a past president of the medical staff. He is also an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Department of OB/GYN at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Zarlengo is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Dr. Zarlengo served on the Exempla Healthcare board of directors from 1997 to 1999. Today he serves on the boards of directors of COPIC Insurance and the Zarlengo Foundation.
