Meet our Medical Massage Team
Lloyd Mills, CMT, RMT
Senior Massage Therapist
Lloyd has created a practice primarily around pain management and injury rehabilitation. He employs elements of deep tissue therapies, neuromuscular therapy, myofascial work and structural integration as the core for this work. A background in qigong massage and tui na (Chinese massage styles) is the foundation for the more subtle aspects of healing; Lloyd also holds a First Degree of Reiki certification.
Lloyd started his practice in massage therapy in 1994 after completing the Year One program at the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado. He then worked for three years in the Anesthesia Pain Management unit at Lutheran as a Physical Therapy Aid and Massage Therapist, further building a foundation of working in an integrated setting to heal the worst causes of pain and provide relief to clients with severe injuries.
Sandra Abel, CMT, RMT
Massage Therapist
Sandra received her 1000 hour certification from the Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado. Her training includes Swedish, Joint Range of Motion, Neuromuscular Therpay, Motion Palpation, Myofascial Release, Reflexology, Hot Stone Massage, Zoku Shin Do, Aromatherapy, Moxa and Cupping. Her belief is that "Massage is a tool for transformation." She is passionate about practicing this ancient art of healing, based on the simple power of touch, and honored to facilitate growth, healing and balance in her clients.
Janey Bell, CMT, RMT
Massage Therapist
Janey graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in Lakewood, Colorado in 1999 and has completed advanced training in myofascial release technique, LaStone therapy and energy modalities. Her experience as a massage therapist includes working in busy spa environments, as well as working in a chiropractic clinic with chronic pain, auto accident, and athletic injury patients. Her emphasis is on individualized integrative massage coming from a heart-centered space and incorporating deep tissue, swedish, neuromuscular, sports and energy work, helping her clients achieve balance. Janey also is a motivated triathlete and enjoys working with athletes of all types to help them work through injuries, maintain health and achieve their athletic goals.
Michelle Carmichael, CMT, RMT
Massage Therapist
Michelle received her BFA in dance from the University of Colorado in 1998 and she has danced professionally since she was16. In 2001 she decided to combine her love of dance and passion for the body and attend massage school. She graduated from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy with over 1000 hours of training in a variety of massage modalities and techniques. After completing internships with the CU football team, CU athletic department and Mapleton Rehab Clinic doing Orthopedic and Sports Massage Therapy Michelle went to work for the last 8 years in physical therapy clinics and spas where she specialized in massage therapy for auto accidents; work mans comp, sports, occupational and surgical related injuries. The massage modalities that she specializes in are Deep Tissue, Neuromuscular Technique, Trigger Point Therapy, Myoskeletal Alignment Technique, Hot Stone Therapy and Swedish Massage Therapy
Shaun Gothwaite, BA, CNA, CMT, RMT
Massage Therapist
Shaun earned her massage certification at Massage Therapy Institute of Colorado in 1990. She completed advanced level training programs II & III and was an instructor at MTIC from 1991 - 1999. Shaun has a background in a variety of modalities, including reflexology, manual therapy technique, myofascial release Jin Shin Jytsu 1-3, pre- and post-natal massage and chair massage. Shaun has experience treating clients with pain, injuries and stress. Shaun integrates the art and science of massage therapy, helping her clients bring balance into their lives.
Lin Liberti, BS, CMT, RMT
Massage Therapist
Lin is a certified massage therapist in both Western and Eastern therapeutic massage techniques and has trained in the USA and China. She is certified in Craniosacral Therapy and has advanced training in Auricular Therapy. Lin specializes in treating a variety of different health problems, including acute and chronic pain, whiplash, low back pain, migraine and tension headaches, neurological disorders, auditory and stress related problems. These professional experiences have helped Lin to realize her goal of being of service to others in a healthcare profession.

Larry Welsh, MA, M.Ac.
Acupuncturist
Larry has been a licensed acupuncturist since 1993. He has successfully treated a broad range of healthcare issues through oriental medicine including musculoskeletal pain, immune system weakness, fatigue, headaches of all kinds, digestive problems, infertility, gynecological issues, menopause, osteoporosis, sinusitis, colds and the flu. He integrates nutrition, based on oriental medicine, and life style counseling into his work with patients. He has taught Tai Chi Ch'uan and meditation for over 30 years.
Dawn Powell-Londono, L.Ac, CMT
Acupuncturist
Dawn is nationally certified in acupuncture, Chinese Herbology and massage therapy, and is a registered acupuncturist in the state of Colorado. She is certified in Oncology Acupuncture through the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and has a real passion for helping patients through the oncology process. Dawn is experienced in treating chronic and acute pain, sports injuries, headaches, women's issues, stress and overall wellness. Dawn often treats inpatients at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center to decrease pain and nausea, improve sleep and decrease stress.

Terri Kirwan, MA, LPC comprehensive approach to health and healing. She integrates physical and emotional awareness, cognitive-behavioral skills, experiential exercises and hypnotherapy to change limiting beliefs and relational styles.
Registered Dietitian
Cherie earned her degree from the University of Connecticut and has been doing nutrition counseling since 1981. She is the outpatient dietitian at Lutheran Medical Center and has expertise working with a wide variety of nutrition concerns. An avid tennis player and cyclist, Cherie helps clients with the attitudes and moods that accompany eating habits as well as helping them choose foods that promote the highest level of health.
Carol Emrick, RN, NP, HNC, CHTP
Integrative Health Nurse, Healing Touch, Arvigo Mayan Abdominal Massage
Carol began her nursing career over 30 years ago. In 1985 she became certified as a nurse practitioner in Women's Healthcare. Carol has worked in a variety of clinical settings including hospitals and healthcare clinics. At Bridges, Carol does holistic health counseling, Arvigo Mayan abdominal massage, and Healing Touch. She uses healing touch with clients to reduce pain, promote wound healing, induce the relaxation response and reduce anxiety and stress.
Carol has earned certifications in childbirth education, holistic nursing, healing touch and Arvigo Mayan abdominal massage. She has taken additional training in herbal medicine and the use of essential oils. Carol especially enjoys integrating holistic nursing with traditional medical care.

Colleen Hatton, PT, MA
Director
Colleen Hatton has worked for Exempla Lutheran Medical Center for more than 30 years. Prior to coming to Bridges, she served as the Director of Health Management Services where she had oversight of cardiac rehabilitation, senior services, cancer education, pulmonary rehabilitation and diabetes education. She has been with Bridges since its inception in July of 1999.

This method teaches emotional regulation, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal, and life skills to help you decrease stress, favor emotional balance and turn down excessive drives. It is helpful for depression and changing behavior around common excesses such as overeating, spending, smoking, etc.
