As of Monday, October 19th, we will implement new visitor guidelines for the hospital, based on suggested restrictions from the State of Colorado's Health Alert Network (HAN) with regard to the H1N1 Flu.
- We will screen visitors who enter the hospital for flu like symptoms. If they have flu like symptoms, they will not be allowed to visit.
- Children under the age of 18 will not be allowed to visit.
The goal of these preventive measures is to avoid the spread of these infections and to help ensure a safe environment for our patients, visitors and our staff.

For more than 100 years, Exempla Lutheran Medical Center has relied on a simple principle to guide us: to foster healing and health. Today we continue that tradition with our website designed precisely with that principle in mind -- to share information that fosters healing and health.
Since 1905, Exempla Lutheran Medical Center has been advancing the art of healing and the science of medicine throughout metro Denver. Today, the 400-bed, community-based hospital offers a comprehensive spectrum of specialized care, from birth to end-of-life. Every patient can be assured of receiving the highest standard of care. Lutheran's national accreditations include Level III Trauma, Level III Neonatal, Chest Pain Centers of America, and is the region's only Sleep Disorders Center. The hospital's 2,500 employees, 800 physicians and 1,200 volunteers have helped Lutheran earn numerous recognitions, including being named one of the nation's Top 100 Hospitals seven times. Lutheran's legacy of trusted care continued with the openings of Collier Hospice Center and Lutheran Surgery Center in 2006, and Exempla Lutheran Medical Center - Southwest in 2007. Exempla Lutheran Medical Center...Leading by Example.

The Exempla Healthcare's Board of Directors has approved the next phases of a $225 million investment to build a new patient tower at Exempla Lutheran Medical Center to better meet the growing health care needs of Jefferson County.
The project will renovate the existing hospital and add a new five-story, 200,000 square foot hospital pavilion on the northeast section of the campus. As part of the project, the existing medical/surgical patient rooms will be renovated, and support functions added to enable the future electronic medical record. And a future expansion of the emergency/trauma care area will take place.
