Welcome to Our Integration Leadership Team

As the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth Health System (SCLHS) and Exempla Healthcare move forward with their integration and alignment process, we welcome the new executive leadership team announced in July 2010. This team provides leadership and oversight for SCLHS and Exempla Healthcare as they move towards building an integrated health system that embraces performance excellence, provides superior services to all our Care Sites and fulfills our shared Mission to improve community health.

Robert Boysen
Integration Leader 

Robert Boysen serves as Integration Leader and is providing guidance and oversight during the integration and alignment process. Since March 1999, Bob was SCLHS Vice President of Information Services and Chief Information Officer. He has more than 20 years of health care information technology management experience. Previously, he was Vice President and Chief Information Officer for the Iowa Health System, and prior to that, Vice President and CIO for HealthONE in Denver.

Edward L. Barker, Esq.
Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Edward L. Barker, Esq., is Senior Vice President, General Counsel. Ed joined SCLHS in 1987 as Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and also serves as the President and Chair of the Board of Leaven Insurance Company, Ltd. Prior to joining SCLHS, Ed was a partner with a Kansas City law firm and chairman of the health and security law departments for six years.

Margaret "Peg" Breen
Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer

Margaret "Peg" Breen is Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Peg joined SCLHS as Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer, in February 2010. She brings 15 years of experience in health care, most recently as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Alegent Health in Omaha, Nebraska, an integrated system with more than 9,000 employees. Peg served in similar leadership positions in two global communications companies.

Jill Willen Kennelly
Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer  

Jill Willen Kennelly is Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Since 2008, Jill served as Vice President, Strategy & Business Development. Prior to joining SCLHS, she was Senior Vice President, Strategy & Business Development, for OhioHealth in Columbus, Ohio. From 2000 - 2005, Jill held several senior strategy and business development positions with Tenet Healthcare Corp. She was a senior manager in the National Strategy Practice of KPMG from 1993 - 2000.

David Pecoraro
Vice President and Chief Information Officer

David Pecoraro serves as Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Dave has been overseeing all aspects of Information Systems and Technology for Exempla Healthcare, including systems and technology strategic planning, implementation and support, and all e-health care initiatives. Prior to joining Exempla Healthcare, Dave served as Vice President and CIO at Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services in Louisville, Kentucky. 

Christine Woolsey
Vice President of Corporate Communications 

Christine Woolsey is Vice President of Corporate Communications, assuming this role after serving as interim Vice President of Communications & Marketing for Exempla Healthcare since January 2010. She was responsible for managing both system and Care Site communications. Prior to joining SCLHS in July, Chris was Senior Vice President and Director of Midwest Healthcare for Hill & Knowlton, Inc., a global public relations agency. Before she began her career in corporate communications, Chris spent 20 years as a journalist covering health care for national and local media outlets.
