The medical director and leading medical oncologist for the new Comprehensive Cancer Center is Richard Hesky, MD, at back left. He and hematology/medical oncology colleagues Deb Cook, MD, Kerry Fisher, MD, and Alice Luknic, MD, have decades of experience in patient care and hospital leadership, and are some of the most respected cancer-care physicians in the community.
They, along with the center's extensive team of physicians and other specialists, manage the care of each patient, which includes selecting the optimal treatment plan and developing an individualized plan of care that best meets each patient's needs.
Treatment plans can include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery or a combination of these and other methods. Also integral to the high-quality, personalized care plans developed at the Comprehensive Cancer Center are the facility's Infusion Center and dedicated oncology pharmacist.
All together, the team expertly addresses each patient's medical, treatment, and pain and symptom management needs, as well as the psychological and social needs that a cancer diagnosis can create for the patient and family.
