About Our Emergency Services
The Emergency Department of Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center treats more than 35,000 patients in a year and cares for over 3000 patients a month. With 42 beds and a 12 bed observation unit available 24 hours per day, seven days a week, the Exempla Good Samaritan Emergency Department is able to care for a variety of medical and surgical emergencies. In addition, we offer a state-of-the-art Level III Trauma Center and an Accredited Chest Pain Center. Behavioral Health staff is on-site for psychiatric evaluations. Physicians:
It's vital that patients receive effective treatment from specially trained doctors, nurses and paramedics. That's why Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center staffs it's Emergency Department with board certified physicians specialized in emergency care. These physicians are supported by an entire team of Physician's Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, and Registered Nurses certified and experienced in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), pediatrics, and trauma. Other support staff include Emergency Medical Technicians, Customer Service Representatives and Unit Clerks who help us focus on providing the best possible experience for our patients when they are not having such a good day.
Pediatric Care - KidsTrek:
When children get sick or injured, it's a frightening experience for both parents and children. Our KidsTrek area is staffed with board certified pediatricians, Nurse Practitioners, Physician's Assistant's and RNs with special pediatric training from 4 p.m. to midnight when the pediatrician office is closed. Our child-friendly rooms are designed to reduce the anxiety and provide a calming environment.
Chest Pain Center:
With chest pain, time means everything. The sooner the blocked artery causing a heart attack is opened, the quicker the blood flow is restored to the heart muscle, the better the outcome for the patient. Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center is an accredited chest pain center from the Society of Chest Pain Centers. This means they have established protocols to quickly assess patients with chest pain and get them to treatment quickly and effectively.
