Living with Lung Disease
If you have emphysema or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program at EGSMC Health and Healing Center can help you breathe easier and lead a more active life! The Pulmonary Rehab Program includes small-group exercise and education led by respiratory therapists and exercise physiologists. This program is covered by most insurance plans and requires a physician referral.

Our registered dietitian can provide individuals with nutrition counseling and education to help improve health and wellbeing through better lifestyle choices. Nutrition counseling and education are available for conditions such as diabetes and blood sugar management; controlling cholesterol and lipid levels; weight reduction; food allergy management; regaining weight after surgery or illness; irritable bowel, Crohn's disease, or other gastrointestinal conditions; as well as sports nutrition for active lifestyles.
Medicare and other insurance carriers cover nutrition counseling for certain medical conditions, with a referral from your doctor.

Pathways to Exercise
This medically supervised exercise program is designed to assist individuals who are living with chronic medical conditions such as congestive heart failure or peripheral artery disease as well as individuals with diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, or an elevated risk for coronary disease.
Program components include small group and individually focused exercises as well as healthy lifestyle education classes - all in a supportive environment.
Instructors: Staff with expertise in disease management including registered nurses, exercise physiologists and respiratory therapists
